BC Nepherite Jade is a member of the silicates family. It is found in several shades of green and it can be translucent.
Since ancient times, nephrite jade was considered an Imperial gemstone. Important dignitaries and rulers often had burial suits made of jade. Pieces of nephrite jade were used as tribute payments to the Imperial Chinese court. Imperial jade comes from Myanmar and is renowned for its deep, translucent, emerald green color.
When used for metaphysical purposes, nephrite jade is believed to be a stone to induce dreams. Nephrite is considered restorative and cleanses the body, particularly the kidneys, liver, and spleen. It is believed to also be helpful for joint and bone pain.
Nepherite Jade has a Mohs hardness of 6 – 6.5
